Coin are collectible item that appear in both Astro Bot Rescue Mission, Astro's Playroom and Astro Bot. They are circular in shape and are colored either gold or silver.
Astro Bot Rescue Mission[]
In Astro Bot Rescue Mission, there are three types of Coin.
The most common is the small gold Coin engraved with a Bot face, which is worth 1 Coin. As well as floating throughout the world, they are also found within Coin Containers and are awarded for smashing breakable items and defeating enemies.
The larger gold Coin engraved with a star is less common but is worth 10 Coins.
The VR Bot Coin is identical in size and value to the Star Coin, but is colored silver instead. They are located in the same areas where VR Bots have already been collected by the player.
When 100 Coins have been collected, they can be spent on the Gatcha Game located in the Collection Room of the Astro Ship.
However, we are not quite sure what to do with the coins you collect after purchasing all the available items.
Astro's Playroom[]
In Astro's Playroom, Coins are engraved with the PlayStation (PS) logo on one side, and the face button symbols of the game controller (△OX▢) on the other.
You can then spend those coins on Gatcha prizes at the claw machine in the PlayStation Hub.
Astro Bot[]
Coins are aesthetically identical to Astro's Playroom, but a Big Coin AND a Bot Coin are now both only worth 3 coins. Additionally, a new mechanic has been introduced to the game: Paying 200 coins will allow you to get a bird that will help you seek out any collectible items that you haven't already found on your first playthrough.
